OpenAI is expanding Codex beyond software development with six new role-specific plugins aimed at non-developers, who now make up about 20% of its 5 million weekly users and are growing more than 3x as fast as developers. The plugins bundle 62 apps and 110 skills across data analytics, creative production, sales, product design, public equity investing, and investment banking, with tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, Figma, Canva, and Snowflake. The creative production plugin lets marketing teams turn a brief into campaign boards, display ad variations, and e-commerce-ready image sets. OpenAI also previewed Sites, which lets business and enterprise users create and share interactive hosted dashboards and tools via URL, with early partners including Wix, Figma, Webflow, and Replit. A new annotations feature lets users point to a specific part of a document, slide, or site and ask Codex to refine it in place.
