MoEngage, a customer-engagement SaaS platform, acquired San Francisco-based AI startup Aampe to strengthen its agentic-marketing stack, with sources telling Inc42 the all-cash deal ran into the tens of millions. Aampe builds dedicated autonomous AI agents for each individual customer of a brand, deciding the message, timing, frequency, and channel based on behavioral history rather than demographic targeting, and learning from every outcome to sharpen future decisions. Founders Paul Meinshausen, Schaun Wheeler, and Sami Abboud will join MoEngage to lead its agentic-decisioning work, with Aampe customers like Grab and Taxfix moving over and Swiggy already using both platforms. The deal advances MoEngage's push toward an agentic customer-engagement platform, building on its Merlin AI agents, as the company prepares for a public listing after recently reverse-flipping its domicile to India.
