Meta reassigned oversight of its internal “AI For Work” initiative to CTO Andrew Bosworth, who previously focused heavily on the company's metaverse operations, with the move signaling a shift in emphasis from virtual reality toward AI-driven workforce transformation. The initiative was previously led by Guy Rosen, according to an internal memo viewed by the Wall Street Journal, and aims to embed AI tools throughout Meta's workforce to help the company compete with leaner, AI-native startups. Bosworth, who has been with Meta since 2006 and became CTO in 2022, told employees in the memo that early pilots and the speed of AI tool adoption across teams had “created real momentum” heading into the next phase.
