Meta acqui-hires Dreamer’s team and licenses its AI agent OS to build personalized always-on agents

Meta hired the team behind Dreamer, a startup that built an operating system for AI agents and agentic apps, to join Meta Superintelligence Labs, while also licensing Dreamer's technology, according to a post from Dreamer co-founder and CEO David Singleton. Dreamer launched its beta just one month ago and already attracted thousands of users who built agents for tasks like managing email, creating learning tools, and tracking health goals. The acqui-hire follows Meta's March acquisition of Moltbook, a Reddit-like social network built for AI agents, as Meta Superintelligence Labs continues to build out what Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang described as agents that are “truly personalized and always-on, with the ability to integrate across surfaces and wearables.”
