Marqeta has expanded its account and money movement tools into 30 additional European countries through a collaboration with Banking Circle, a Luxembourg-licensed bank, according to a company announcement. The expansion lets businesses across Europe add embedded virtual accounts and multi-rail payment capabilities to their card programs. The move builds on Marqeta's growth in the region, including an 8x rise in total processing volume for its European card programs from 2022 to 2025 and its 2025 acquisition of TransactPay, which brought full program management and licensed e-money capabilities for multi-currency virtual accounts. The portfolio includes virtual accounts with digital wallet functionality, UK faster-payments integration that processes payments in seconds, and SEPA Credit and SEPA Instant transfers across more than 40 SEPA member countries. Marqeta, which processed nearly $400B in annual payments volume in 2025, is certified to operate in over 40 countries.
