A 27-year-old Amazon employee, identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Travion Taylor of Melrose Park, Illinois, died after being shot inside the control-accessed parking garage of an Amazon facility on June 4. Village officials say the shooting happened around 9 a.m. and appears to have stemmed from a dispute between two people; Taylor was taken to a hospital in critical condition, underwent surgery, and later died. Amazon called it a senseless tragedy, said the delivery station has been deemed safe and given added security, and said it is supporting police. No one is in custody, and the West Suburban Major Crime Task Force is assisting Melrose Park police with the investigation.
