Kroger has lost another senior leader, with Valerie Jabbar retiring this month from her role as senior vice president of retail divisions after 38 years at the company. Jabbar spent her entire career at Kroger, starting as a clerk at its Fry's division in 1987 before rising through leadership posts including district manager, vice president of merchandising, division president of Ralphs, and group vice president of center store merchandising. She was named SVP of retail divisions in 2021. Her exit makes her at least the third Kroger executive to depart since Greg Foran became CEO in February. Joe Kelley, who also held the SVP of retail divisions title, left to become chief operating officer of Associated Wholesale Grocers, and 18-year company veteran Jamie Lancaster, most recently global vice president of the Kroger Capability Center, announced his departure earlier this month.
