Kindred, a home-swapping startup, secured $125 million in fresh funding to position itself as a “third option” alongside hotels and short-term rentals. The San Francisco-based company is combining a $40 million Series B and an $85 million Series C to expand its credit-based exchange platform, which allows members to swap primary residences without exchanging cash. The new capital is funding the development of trust-based sub-communities and safety systems as the network is scaling globally.
