OpenAI co-founder and former chief scientist Ilya Sutskever testified in the Musk v. Altman trial on Monday that his stake in the company is worth roughly $7B, making him one of the largest individual shareholders in the AI startup. Sutskever, who was instrumental in developing OpenAI's technology and later played a role in briefly ousting Sam Altman in 2023, said during his testimony that he had been thinking about concerns with Altman for a year before the board took action. He left OpenAI in May 2024 and later co-founded a competing AI research lab called Safe Superintelligence. The disclosure follows OpenAI President Greg Brockman's testimony last week that his stake in the company is worth about $30B.
