Google announced at I/O 2026 that its Google Wallet Android redesign is now fully available for all users, featuring a new homepage with “dynamic quick access to your favorites,” full-screen visual designs for boarding passes and time-sensitive content, and a searchable hub for transaction details. Google also introduced Cross-device Payment Verification for Google Pay, which lets customers complete desktop online transactions by authenticating on their mobile device through a secure push notification or QR code scan, then approving the payment with a biometric or PIN. For developers, Google Wallet is getting a dedicated API to share digital receipts directly into Wallet and a “contactless loyalty enrollment” feature that prompts users to join loyalty programs after tapping.
