Google will open its first physical store outside the U.S. in Tokyo's Omotesando district this summer, marking the 11th location in its growing retail portfolio. The Omotesando store will serve as Google's flagship outside the U.S., located on the first floor of the upscale, fashion-focused Omokado Tokyu Plaza, a nod to Japan's importance as a market where Pixel devices have sold especially well despite the lineup's small global share. Visitors can expect the full range of Pixel devices, support and service options, exclusive merchandise and Pixel colors, and workshops for existing Pixel and Fitbit owners, along with the ability to pick up online orders. A storefront mockup includes a Japanese take on Shinjuku's famous 3D cat billboard, displaying a “Coming soon” placeholder.
