Google partners with Back Market to launch a $3 ChromeOS Flex USB Kit for Windows 10 users with aging PCs

Google has teamed up with Back Market, a refurbished electronics marketplace, to sell a ChromeOS Flex USB Kit priced at around $3, designed to make it easier for users to install the free operating system on older PCs and Macs without buying new hardware. The kit includes simplified guides and video tutorials and is being positioned as a direct response to Microsoft ending Windows 10 support last October, which left hundreds of millions of computers at risk of obsolescence. Google says ChromeOS consumes 19% less energy on average than comparable systems, and the reusable USB drive is part of a broader sustainability push that also includes a partnership with e-waste organization Closing the Loop.
