Google, Meta, and TikTok are facing coordinated EU Digital Services Act complaints filed by the European Consumer Organisation (BEUC) and 29 member organisations across 27 European countries, accusing the platforms of allowing fraudulent financial promotions to remain active despite repeated reports. BEUC said that of nearly 900 advertisements reported as suspected EU law breaches between December and March, only 27% were removed while more than half of the reports were either rejected or ignored. Under the DSA framework, fines for serious breaches can reach up to 6% of a company's global annual turnover. Google said it blocks more than 99% of violating ads before they appear, while Meta said it removed more than 159M scam advertisements last year with 92% identified before users reported them.
