Google appoints former THG Beauty CMO Pete Metcalfe as its new director of retail for the UK and Ireland

Google has hired Pete Metcalfe, former chief marketing officer of THG Beauty, as director of retail for the UK and Ireland, where he will report to Sophie Neary, managing director of retail and consumer goods at Google. Metcalfe has spent nearly two decades working with Google as a client and partner across agency and retail roles, including positions at some of the UK's largest retailers. He cited the ongoing transformation of how people search, stream, and shop as the reason the timing felt right to join Google's retail team.
