Google announced three forthcoming ad updates ahead of its Marketing Live event on May 20, including AI Max for Shopping campaigns, AI Brief, and text disclaimers for Search. AI Max for Shopping will function similarly to AI Max for Search but with a key difference: text ads can show from Google-generated copy based on Merchant Center data, and advertisers who opt in allow ads to show in AI Overviews and AI Mode. AI Brief lets advertisers provide guidelines like “include pricing in ads to better pre-qualify users before they click” or “do not show ads for queries that include ‘inexpensive' or ‘low-price,'” and will roll out in AI Max for Search before expanding to Performance Max and AI Max for Shopping. Text disclaimers for Search show advertisers' terms, conditions, and disclosures up to 90 characters in the description line of Responsive Search Ads without pinning, and do not affect ad strength scores.
