Google added continued conversation to Gemini for Home, letting users chat naturally without repeating the “Hey Google” wake word each time

Google rolled out a continued conversation feature for Gemini for Home that keeps the microphone active for a few seconds after each response, allowing users to ask follow-up questions naturally without repeating the “Hey Google” wake word, with the device's lights pulsing to indicate when the window is open. The feature is available today across all Gemini for Home supported languages and regions but must be manually enabled in the Google Home app under settings. Continued conversation was previously available in a more limited form under Google Assistant, which Gemini for Home has been replacing since last fall.
