eBay quietly extends Best Offer counteroffer window to 4 days in the US and UK with no seller notice

eBay quietly extended the buyer response window for seller counteroffers on Best Offer listings from 24 hours to 96 hours in the US and UK, announcing the change in a community forum post on the same day it took effect with no advance notice. The update mirrors a 2024 change eBay made to Seller Initiated Offers, which drew significant pushback from sellers who complained that offers held in limbo lock listings and prevent editing, creating complications for sellers who need to put their shops on Time Away. eBay's help pages for both buyers and sellers were still showing the old 24-hour timeframe as of publication, and the company has not ruled out extending the change to other markets.
