eBay is shortening its Money Back Guarantee for Coins, Bullion, and Paper Money to just 3 calendar days from delivery for purchases from sellers who don't offer returns, down from 30 days, with the change taking effect May 7. The policy shift mirrors similar changes eBay previously made for trading cards and “for parts/not working” listings, and buyers are currently being notified only by email. CFO Peggy Alford flagged on both the Q3 and Q4 2025 earnings calls that Coins and Bullion drove a significant share of eBay's GMV but warned the growth was tied to bullion price volatility that may not be durable. Buyers in the category have raised concerns that 3 days is not enough time to have coins or bullion independently verified before a claim window closes.
