eBay and its former executives finalized a $55.7M settlement with Ina and David Steiner, who publish EcommerceBytes, ending the civil case over the 2019 harassment campaign, according to Liz Morton at Value Added Resource. Compensation accounts for $48.7M, with eBay covering $46.15M, former CEO Devin Wenig $2M, former operations SVP Wendy Jones $500K, and Steve Wymer, the former communications chief, $50K. eBay will put another $6M toward nonprofits, and Wenig will give $1M to a First Amendment charity in Ina Steiner's name. Nothing in the deal stops the Steiners from discussing the case or the evidence, and eBay agreed to publish a statement about how the three executives behaved. The couple had sought $700M, and an earlier deal collapsed over written terms, which led Judge Patti Saris to restart the case in June.
