Disney limits OpenAI exclusivity to one year

Disney revealed that its three-year licensing partnership with OpenAI includes only one year of exclusivity, according to CEO Bob Iger. The agreement allowed OpenAI to integrate over 200 characters from Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars into its Sora video generator, but leaves Disney free to pursue similar deals with other AI firms after the initial 12 months. Iger stated the company intends to embrace technological disruption rather than oppose it, even as it simultaneously issued a cease-and-desist letter to Google over alleged copyright infringement.
