by | Jun 4, 2025 | E-commerce News

DHL eCommerce’s new 2025 trend report reveals that 70% of global consumers expect to primarily shop through social media by 2030, with growing demand for AI-powered tools like virtual try-ons, shopping assistants, and voice search. Based on insights from 24,000 shoppers across 24 countries, the report highlights a shift toward platforms like TikTok and Instagram, especially among Gen Z. Despite tech advances, basic logistics remain critical: 81% of shoppers abandon purchases if their preferred delivery option is unavailable, and 79% walk away over poor return processes. Sustainability also weighs heavily—nearly half of Gen Z shoppers have abandoned carts over environmental concerns.
