CP Group, a San Diego-based designer and integrator of material recovery facilities and automated sorting technologies, acquired a majority stake in London-based Recycleye, which develops AI computer vision systems for robotic and conveyor-based waste sorting. The two companies have worked together since 2023, including joint development of the Vivid-AI optical sorter, and the acquisition is intended to align plant design, sorting intelligence, and operational control systems to improve material recovery rates and reduce reliance on manual sorting. Recycleye's leadership and workforce will remain in place, with further joint development expected to focus on hybrid AI and near-infrared detection systems for complex waste streams.
