Broadcom appointed Amie Thuener, currently Alphabet's vice president, corporate controller, and chief accounting officer, to succeed Kirsten Spears, who is retiring after serving as CFO since late 2020 and overseeing the company's $69B acquisition of VMware in 2023. Thuener previously served as a managing director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, covering transaction and accounting advisory services, and Broadcom CEO Hock Tan specifically cited her experience in AI-related transactions. Broadcom, which has a market value of $1.48T and works with Google and OpenAI on custom AI chips, projected last month that its AI chip revenue would exceed $100B next year amid surging demand.
