Block released Buzz, a free open source workspace where AI agents work alongside people across channels, threads, direct messages, voice, and code repositories. Agents on Buzz hold their own cryptographic keypairs instead of vendor-issued API keys, so an agent keeps its identity and track record when it moves to any other Nostr-compatible system. Buzz runs agents built on Claude Code, Codex, Block's own goose, or whatever a team brings, and those agents can reach a connected database, CRM, codebase, or file system under permissions the team sets. Teams can self-host the Apache-2.0 release on their own infrastructure or use Block's hosted version. Bradley Axen, Block's head of AI capabilities, framed the release around whether the place where humans and agents work together ends up proprietary or open.
