BigBasket, the Tata-backed Indian quick-commerce and online grocery platform, has replaced co-founder and CEO Hari Menon with Amit Nanda, a longtime Amazon India executive. Nanda spent 11 years at Amazon, most recently as Director of Selling Partner Services overseeing its third-party marketplace in India, and steps in as BigBasket rolls out new products and services to hold its ground. Menon, who built the company from inception, is not leaving entirely and will stay on the board alongside co-founder Vipul Parekh to mentor the new leadership. The move comes amid fierce quick-commerce competition in India from Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart. It also caps a run of recent senior hires, including a new COO two weeks ago and a chief growth officer in April.
