Amazon launched a new AI-powered feature called “Join the chat” that lets shoppers ask questions about products on Amazon Shopping app pages and receive conversational audio responses generated in real time by what the company calls “AI-powered shopping experts.” The feature is part of a broader “Hear the highlights” experience that delivers short audio summaries on millions of product pages, with users tapping a button below the product image to hear an overview or pose specific questions via text or voice about details like whether a coffee maker suits beginners or whether a sweater feels itchy. Amazon wrote in a blog post that “every question they ask influences what comes next, making the experience a conversation customers can join and customize.”
