Amazon has launched a new team within its Lab126 hardware division to develop agentic artificial intelligence for use in robotics and other applications. Unlike chatbots, agentic AI can execute complex, multistep tasks autonomously. The group will create a framework to enable robots to understand and act on natural language commands, aiming to turn warehouse robots into versatile assistants. This effort builds on Amazon’s broader agentic AI initiatives, which include a browser-based agent, a cloud-based team, and new capabilities in the Alexa+ voice assistant.
